Premier Lighting Highlights Proxima’s (Premier’s Sister Company) IES Illumination Award for the Fairmont Pacific Rim Ballroom
Premier Lighting, through its expertise in custom manufacturing, played a key role in supporting Proxima Lighting Solutions’ award-winning project at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Ballroom. Proxima (Premier’s sister company) has been recognized at the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Illumination Awards for their outstanding lighting design.
This honor celebrates projects that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and impact in the field of architectural lighting.
The project involved retrofitting more than 300 large custom fabric fixtures while keeping the iconic ballroom fully operational. Proxima led the design effort, reusing existing frames, introducing specialized installation tools, and replacing fluorescent sources with energy efficient LEDs to improve sustainability, reduce UV damage, and eliminate mercury.
Premier Lighting was proud to supply the custom fixtures that brought this vision to life. The new design preserved the ballroom’s signature bow tie aesthetic while introducing two layer fabric shades for enhanced comfort and visual appeal. Tuned to a warm 2700K with high color quality, the lighting creates an elegant, welcoming atmosphere. Fire retardant coatings and seamless integration with the hotel’s advanced building management system further enhance safety and performance.
